Our spirituality draws from St. Augustine.
"If you love God first of all and thus your neighbor, these are the decrees that have been given to us as basics".
St. Augustine of Hippo
Attracted by Divine Mercy (The Prodigal Son Lk 15, 11-32) and by the Father’s Providence (Look at the birds in the sky……Mt 6, 25-34), aware that the greatest Commandment of God is Love: “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and your neighbor as yourself” (Lk 10, 27) and that above all there is Charity which covers many sins, we Oblate Sisters of Saint Augustine of Our Lady of Trust want to live our life, with simplicity and commitment, in the spirit of the Gospel. We serve to the best of our capacities today’s poor and poverty, being spiritual or material and collaborating “in all forms of apostolate according to the needs of the places and times in full communion with the Church” (Const. chapter 6, no. 59).
The search of God is the driving force of St. Augustine’s spirituality:
- The reality of God is so unfathomable that a thorough knowledge of Him is impossible.
- The more one searches God and finds Him, the more you love Him; the more you love Him, ever more the desire grows to search Him.
"Mary, the faithful Virgin who pursued her journey of faith in full communion with Christ, is the living model of our life of faith which prompts us to trust God and to rely on Him" (Const. chapter 2, no. 11).
On December 14 the Advent retreat for three Schools of visually impaired children took place in Cebu City. It was a beautiful and intense moment of spirituality in preparation for Holy Christmas!
